Part-Time Registered Nurse

The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office is accepting resumes for a part-time Registered Nurse.  Responsible for providing professional nursing care to inmates at the County jail.   Applicants must have a current nursing license from the State of Iowa or residing compact state.   Must possess current CPR certification.   Scheduled work hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Competitive compensation. Applications can be picked up and submitted at the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office/Jail, 1400 Big Lake Road, Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Contact Tricia Jones at 712-890-2291 for information. Sr. Programmer Analyst

Pottawattamie County is announcing a hiring process for the position of Sr. Programmer Analyst. This process will be conducted according to the following schedule and qualifications listed below.

Essential Job Duties:
The Sr. Programmer Analyst performs systems analysis and application development programming work in a responsible manner, on the creation and maintenance of database systems that are developed or purchased for departments throughout the County.

Minimum Qualifications:

Develops application programs using Microsoft .NET development software, programming in Microsoft C# language, non inclusive, under the supervision of Director of Information Technologies.  All programming code developed follows proper object-oriented principles and designs.  Must be able to work well under pressure.  Applicants must have knowledge of the Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office software suite.  Applicants must possess strong critical-thinking, problem solving skills and a logical mindset.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science required.  Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the course of employment.

Case Manager

The Pottawattamie County Community Services Department is announcing a hiring process for the position of Case Manager.  This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.  Pottawattamie County is an equal opportunity employer.

Essential Job Duties:
The Case Manager is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and monitoring services provided to Medicaid consumers with diagnoses of chronic mental illness, mental retardation, developmental disabled, or children with severe emotional disturbance, including developing a comprehensive plan to identify service needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in a human services field and at least one year of experience in the delivery of services to MR/CMI/DD or SED/MR populations, or an Iowa license to practice as a registered nurse and at least three (3) years of experience in the delivery of services to the population group served.  Must successfully complete a criminal and abuse check as required by Iowa Code, Chapter 24.  Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the course of employment.
